Supermacs
11 February 1998
Supermacs, Ireland's leading family restaurant chain are to open an outlet in Castlebar.
The company will take over the Four Lanterns premises on Main Street and it is expected that they will be open for business in two or three months.
Supermac's are the latest fast food consortium to target Castlebar. Recently McDonald's submitted drawings to the planning authorities to open a drive-in unit on the N5 near the old cemetery.
Supermac's already have outlets in Claremorris, Ballinrobe and Ballina. Inside today's Connaught Telegraph Supermac's are advertising for management and staff for their new Castlebar restaurant.
The president of Castlebar Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Pat Jennings has welcomed the development stating that the growth of the town was now attracting many such multi national concerns.
