"Wish You Were Here" in Mayo

Over 20 million people will view some of the tourist attraction and activities in Mayo on Monday night when the region is featured in the top rates travel show "Wish You Were Here.." which will be screened on ITV at 7p.m.
The film crew based themselves at the Pontoon Bridge Hotel while they filmed in Mayo and Donegal.
The exposure will mean huge exposure for the region to a very large British audience and will no doubt boost the tourist figures for the 1998 season.
The series is also screened in the US which should mean a further international boost for this part of the country.
The presenter of the programme Mary Nightengale, a well known newsreader with the Charlton television network in London.
The film crew flew into knock Airport and the main focus of the programme will feature the three school-based activity holidays that are on offer at Pontoon Bridge Hotel -- Fly Fishing, cooking and landscape painting.
During the stay last October the crew visited the seaweed baths in Enniscrone and filmed traditional music in Barrett's of Laherdane.
They also filmed in the Foxford Woollen Mills as well as trout and salmon fishing on Lough Conn.
