Celebrated spiritual healer Monsignor Michael Buckley is making a rare visit to Mayo.

The England-based Roman Catholic priest, who is known throughout the British Isles for his powerful healing ministry, will conduct a 'Celebration of Healing' in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, on Saturday, June 20th from 3.30 to 6.30p.m., and on Sunday, June 21st, from 2.00 to 5.00p.m.

Mons. Buckley's popular page in Britain's largest Catholic newspaper, The Universe, reaches out to thousands of people who need help in coping with their everyday problems.

He stated: "People are hurting deep inside. They have all sorts of problems in their lives with which they cannot cope. They need someone in whom they can confine, somebody whom they regard as a special friend.

"Although their lives seem divorced from the obligatory Sunday Mass, they look to the Church for help.

"In my attempts to help people, I soon found that their needs were deeper than I had encountered in ordinary parish life. I realised that if I were to be able to help, then I had to identify with their pain.

"It was this identification with people's problems which propelled me into the healing ministry. I founded El Shaddai, and travelled England holding healing services."

SPREADING THE MESSAGE

Mons. Buckley, or Fr. Michael as he prefers to be called, was relieved of parish duties by his Bishop in Leeds 14 years ago to concentrate full time on the El Shaddai Ministry of Inner Healing.

Since then he has travelled extensively throughout England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, spreading the message of God's love.

A close friend, Mrs. Ann Roberts, who helped organise Mons. Buckley's visit to Castlebar, explained: "The Celebration of Healing is based entirely around the Mass. Afterwards, Fr. Michael moves among the congregation guided by the Holy Spirit and healing in the name of the Lord.

"Quite often there is a physical healing apart from the healing which occurs in relations to people's feelings of guilt, fear, bereavement and sudden tragedy which turned their lives upside down.

"Nobody leaves the service without some form of healing. Inner peace is a goal worth attaining. Fr. Michael's sermons and ministry are a sure way of releasing that goal."

Mons. Buckley is the author of several books including His Healing Touch, Dear Father Michael, Do Not Be Afraid and Stories That Heal.

His two-day appearance at Castlebar's Church of the Holy Rosary will include Mass, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Everybody is welcome to attend.
