Willie Joe declined Euro offerBy Aiden HenryMAYO All-Star Willie Joe Padden has ruled himself out as a Fine Gael candidate for the Connaught-Ulster constituency in the European Elections in June. He told the Connaught Telegraph last night:"Having been approached by a lot of people throughout the constituency to let my name go forward, I have, after careful consideration, decided to decline the offer." The Castlebar based publican had been nominated by the required three Fine Gael districts but stated he had decided not to let his name go to convention because of business commitments. But Mr. Padden added:"I have not ruled the possibility of standing for the party in the future." |
