Background
Mayo Ireland was formed in September 1995 with the idea of promoting County Mayo on the world stage and create a virtual Mayo for all those people with or without Mayo connections to visit. Mayo Ireland Ltd was the first company to approach Telecom Eireann to set up a leased line and give access to the Internet. On St Valentine's Day February 14th. 1996 Mayo's own Internet server went on line on the premises of Mayo Ireland Ltd.
We are now located in the town of Claremorris in County Mayo in the West of Ireland and an example of how a rural location is not an obstacle to the development of a highly successful Information Technology project.
