In
addition to houses built by the Council voluntary schemes assisted by
the Council are involved in the construction of another 40
houses.
It is the policy of Mayo County Council to ensure that every family in the County can obtain a dwelling of good standard, located in an acceptable environment at a price or rent that they can afford.
Whilst this policy objective remains broadly constant, nevertheless the Council are conscious of constantly changing housing needs influenced by social, economic and other factors. The Council evaluate the optimum housing solutions available to cater for these changing needs on an ongoing basis.
