Overall a projected population of 7,300 people will benefit from the Scheme and the pipe sizes being constructed will ensure that additional capacity will be available for further extensions of the Scheme, e.g. Ballyhaunis and Knock.

Robeen and Carras

Extensions will be provided in 1996 providing water for approximately 600 mainly agricultural users.

Ballina Regional Water Supply Scheme

This scheme will augment the existing pumping capacity helping to ensure continuity of raw water supply to the treatment works at Lisglennon, Asahi and other planned industrial developments. The scheme will improve the overall efficiency and economy of the system, at a cost of £0.5 million.
