Surfing in Mayo
in the West of Ireland
There
are many water sports you can easily enjoy in the County of Mayo,
such as surfing, sailing, wind surfing, or pleasure
cruising.
Surfing
This sport appeared in Ireland in the middle of the Sixties. But it is only in the last few years that surfing has developed in Ireland.
Many schools and stores specializing in this sport have recently opened, and alot of the locals are following the sport more and more. There are currently 12 clubs affiliated to the federation. Several place lend itself to this practice in the county of Mayo, and two more famous are Achill and Louisburgh. We advise you to return to you there during May, April, September and October. It is indeed during these periods that you will profit normally from the best conditions to devote itself to this sport. and a few years later, the clubs existing decided to create Association Irishwoman of Surfing, which is still today the federation of surfing in the country.
