Move to provide Islandeady school extension

Connaught Telegraph April 3 1996

Moves are underway to provide a £20,000 extension to St. Paul's National School, Cloggernagh, Islandeady.

The four-teacher school caters for a total of 75 pupils in the existing building which consists of two classrooms and one pre-fabricated unit.

The new one-class extension is needed to resolve concerns of overcrowding at the centre.

A number of fundraising promotions are underway to help cover the cost of the extension.

A forthrightly lotto draw is held for a jackpot of £100. The next draw takes place in the Halfway House, Islandeady, on Easter Sunday night.

Members of the St. Paul's N.S. Building Fund Committee will also be involved in a special Easter Egg promotion outside Dunnes Stores Supermarket and Super Valu, Castlebar, on Good Friday and Easter Saturday.

Support of the public would be greatly appreciated.
