SUICIDE SUPPORT GROUP
THE RELATIVES and friends of suicide victims have the opportunity of talking to someone in a safe and confidential atmosphere at the Family Centre, Castlebar tomorrow (Thursday) night at 8.30p.m.They will be allowed to grieve and openly express their feelings of sadness, anguish and anger.
Every year throughout the world three quarters of a million people take their own lives. In many countries this is the leading cause of death in the 25-35 age group.
Those who cannot attend tomorrow nights session and who need further information can call 094-25900 tomorrow evening between 5-6p.m.
BALLINROBE CAT SCAN DRIVE
A MEETING of the organisation set up to provide a CAT scan at the Mayo General Hospital will be held in the Ballinrobe Parish Centre on Monday night at 9p.m. All are invited to attend.DOUBLE DEATH

MAYO GENERAL HOSPITAL
THE MINISTER for Health, Mr. Michael Noonan will visit the Mayo General
Hospital, Castlebar on Monday where he is expected to outline details of the
phase two development of the complex.
Last year the Minister for Trade and Tourism, Enda Kenny announced the go-ahead for the development with a full orthopaedic unit.
The general brief for the work has been sent to the Department of Health and authorisation is now required to advertise for a design team so that expenditure can take this year.
Mr. Kenny said there was a full Government commitment for phase 2 and the orthopaedic unit and that stood.
MAYO FUND DUBLIN LAUNCH
GOVERNMENT Chief Whip Mr. Jim Higgins will perform the Dublin launch of the Muintir Mhaigh Eo International Fund will take place at the Burlington Hotel on Tuesday evening (5.30p.m.).The Fund will be used to provide grants or loans on preferential terms to enterprises on Mayo with the potential to create jobs.
The Mayo Association in Dublin have raised in the region of £10,000 already from an auction and donations at the annual dinner.
It is hoped that Mayo Associations worldwide, as well as other active Mayo groups will organise and subscribe to the fund.

NATIONAL TREE WEEK
TO MARK National Tree Week there will be guided forest walks at Beleek Wood, Ballina and Cong Forest, Balcoyne Wood on Sunday commencing at 3p.m.It is being organised in conjunction with The tree Council of Ireland, Coillte and Mayo County Council.
During 1996 Coillte will distribute over 10,000 trees nationwide through local authorities, to be planted by community groups.
MAYO EUROSONG CONNECTIONS
A MAYO musician will be featured on one of the entries in Eurosong '96 which will be staged at The Point Theatre, Dublin on Sunday.Cora Smyth from Straide will play a violin solo during Brendan Graham's song which will be sung by Emer Quinn.
An intern at Mullingar hospital, Cora was educated at St. Joseph's secondary School, Castlebar. She is daughter of T.J. and Nancy Smyth.
Ten juries will vote for the song which will represent Ireland at the
Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, Norway on May 18.
One of the juries will be based in Westport
