Connaught Telegraph 3 Jul 1996

The death took place suddenly yesterday (Tuesday) of Mrs. Bridget (Bibby) Heanue of the Harbour, Inishturk Island.

The deceased had just celebrated her 90th birthday on Saturday.

Her unexpected passing has cast a dark shadow over the island community of which she was the oldest woman.

Her remains will be brought to the local church today (Wednesday) and burial will take place in the island cemetery following Requiem Mass on Thursday.

The deceased, who was a devote Catholic and loving mother and wife, was predeceased by her husband Pakie ten years ago.

She is survived by her sons Jack, Bill and Paddy Joe and by her daughter Mary O'Toole all of whom reside on Inishturk. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law Mary Catherine and Helen and by her son-in-law John and grandchildren to whom deepest sympathy is extended.

The occasion of her 90th birthday coincided with the sacrament of Holy Communion on Inishturk the only recipient for which was Bridget's granddaughter Joanna Heanue, aged ten years.
