CAT SCAN GARDEN PARTY

Tickets are now at a premium for the Turlough House Parke garden Park which will staged on the afternoon of Sunday July 7.

All the proceeds from the venture will go to the CAT Scan appeal fund for the Mayo General Hospital.

PHOSPHATE PLANT PLAN

Castlebar Urban Council has applied to Mayo County Council for planning permission to construct a £300,000 phosphate removal plant at Knockthomas, Castlebar.

The development will include a control building, chemical storage tanks, site development and all underground works necessary to operate the plant on the existing wastewater treatment plant.

Mr. Johnny Mee has welcomed the development stating he had made representation to Environment Minister Brendan Howlin on the matter.

ADRIAN MUNNELLY MOVES TO NEW JOB

Arts Council Director, Ballina born Adrian Munnelly has resigned his post after thirteen years to take up a position in the private sector.

A former administrator of the Castlebar Arts centre, Mr. Munnelly has joined the management team at Carr Communications where he will specialise in team building and organisation renewal training with the company.

CONG TOURISM OFFICE OPENING

The Minister for Tourism, Enda Kenny will officially open a new Tourist Office for Ireland West Tourism at Cong On Monday afternoon at 3p.m.

KILKELLY CROSS ROAD CÉILÍ

A Cross-road céilí will be held at the Square, Kilkelly on Sunday (Bonfire Night). There will be musicians, junior and senior ser dancers as well as a barbeque. Additional musicians and set dancers are welcome to join in the fun.
