MAYO DANCERS AND MUSICIANS IN US

The Redmond School of Irish Dancing from Castlebar accompanied by the Molloy Brothers from Mulranny are presently on tour in America.

They will be in Boston from Sunday to Tuesday night following which they travel to Venice, Florida.

They will perform at the Friendly Sons and Daughters of St. Patrick annual Emerald Ball in Venice on Friday night (March 15).

The following Day they will take part in the St. Patrick's Day Parade, one of the largest in Florida.

They will be guests of Dick and Peggy Kolba of Powers Way, Venice. The group fly back through New York on Monday March 18.

KILMORE SCHOOL REUNION

A PAST pupils re-union of students who attended Kilmore national school, Newport will be held in the Castlecourt Hotel, Westport on Friday June 21. Music for the occasion will be provided by "Twice as Nice".

MAIRE GEOGHEGAN-QUINN IN BALLINTUBBER

The Fianna Fail spokesman for health, Mrs. Maire Geoghegan-Quinn will be the guest of honour at a Ballintubber Fianna Fail Cumann meeting in Corley's Abbey lounge, Ballintubber on Friday night March 22.

Deputy Seamus Hughes will also be in attendance as well many of the local Fianna Fail councillors and supporters.

RUGBY SKIPPERS SWINFORD CONNECTIONS

Irish Rugby skipper Niall Hogan who is almost certain to be playing for Oxford University next season, is nephew of Terrie Mullaney who is attached to the staff at Swinford District Hospital and of Joe Mullaney a member of the staff at the O'Dwyer Cheshire Home, Bohola.

ACHILL SKIPPER ON CURSAI SPECIAL

Achill man Tom English will be featured in an RTE Cursai special report from New York which will be transmitted on Network 2 on Tuesday at 8.30p.m.

Tom is captain of the Liberty Island ferry in New York and he will be among the many Irish-American's who will be interviewed by reporter Sean O Mealoid.

Tom English moved to the Big Apple in 1971 and he is building a cottage on Achill for his retirement.

ICMSA HONOUR DAVITT

The ICMSA will mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Land League founder Michael Davitt with a special commemoration in Straide on March 25.

The event is being organised by the Co. Mayo ICMSA executive in co-operation with the Davitt Memorial Association.

ICMSA president Frank Allen will lay a wreath on Davitt's grave in the afternoon and that evening a seminar dealing with the various aspects of the patriot's career will be held.

Among the speakers will be Rev. Harry Bohan, RHO, Denis Lucey UCC, On the same day the 60-member National Council of ICMSA will hold its first ever Mayo meeting in the Imperial Hotel, Castlebar where the Land League was founded in 1879.

DAVID IS TOP COOK

David Keary, a transition year student at St. Louis Community School, Kiltimagh has won the Bord Iascaigh Mhara annual schools seafood competition. With the guidance of home economics teachers Ms. Catherine McNulty and Ms. Nuala Whelan, David worked extremely hard practising his recipe.

REEK PILGRIMAGE ON RTE

Ireland's Holy Mountain, Croagh Patrick will be the first location to feature in an eight programme series "Pilgrimages in Europe" on RTE Network 2 on Monday night 9.30 to 10.30p.m.
