Mountpleasant pupils are confirmed

TERENCE Jordan, James Keaveney, Sheila Glynn, Tracie Moran and Fintan Moran were confirmed by Bishop Joseph Cassidy in Carnacon Church.

Jacinta Jordan, Rúairí Nestor, John Walsh, Jason Hurst, Jonathan Morrin, Daniel Burke, Gary Brett, John Connolly, Brian Joyce, David Brennan, Bryan Adams, Rebecca Burke, Máiréad Nestor, Joseph McAndrew, Stephen Prendergast and Kevin Burke, were confirmed by Archbishop Michael Neary in Mayo Abbey Church. Walter Joyce, St. Anthony's School, Castlebar, was also confirmed in Mayo Abbey.

MINI-7s DEFEAT

Mountpleasant/Clogher girls were defeated in the mini-7s football semi-final by Neale /Glencorrib at Scoil Pádraig grounds, Ballina, by 1-4 to 1-1. Neale/Glencorrib went on to win the title, defeating Barnacarroll in the final.

Mountpleasant/Clogher were trying to achieve a hat-trick of titles but were defeated by a stronger and well-drilled Neale/Glencorrib side.

PRETTY WEDDING

The pretty wedding between Eileen Kavanagh, Monard, Mayo Abbey, and Declan McGurrin, Weatherfort, Clogher, Claremorris, took place in Mayo Abbey Church on Saturday, April 27. Celebrant of the Mass was Fr. Austin Fergus, P.P., Mayo Abbey. Bridesmaids were Catherine Kavanagh and Susanne McDonnell. Best man was Michael McGurrin; groomsman, John McGurrin; flower girl, Tara McGurrin; pageboy, Shane Brett.

The reception was held in the Welcome Inn Hotel, Castlebar, where a large number of family, relations and friends danced afterwards to the music of Concorde.

We wish Eileen and Declan God's blessings and a long and happy life of married bliss.
