Alert units distributed to 160 Mayo old folk
ONE-hundred-and-sixty emergency response units have been distributed by Mayo Alert Ltd., to vulnerable old folk countywide.
The operation has been undertaken in association with the Mayo Branch of Victim Support.
According to a spokesman for the group the units have been installed on a good geographical spread. It guarantees security and peace of mind for those who might live alone or in remote area of the region.
Mayo Alert Ltd has been granted charitable status which means that any donations to the organisation is tax free. The system ensures an immediate live response through an open phone to those who activate a panic button.
The spokesman added: "Those equipped with the systems can summon help at the press of a button if they are in need or worried about health or security matters. Further units will be distributed in due course."
