ISLAND TEACHING POST

A principle teacher is being sought for the fifteen pupil Inishturk Island national school. The island community have been without a qualified tutor for some time. Application details for interested candidates can be obtained from Fr. Michael Farragher on 098-25083.

NEW COURTHOUSE

GOVERNMENT Chief Whip, Jim Higgins will perform the official re-opening on Friday of the Ballina Courthouse which has been completely refurbished. The ceremony takes place at 12 noon.

LIONS CHARTED DINNER

CASTLEBAR Lions Club will hold their 20th gala charter dinner in the Failte Suite of the Welcome Inn Hotel on this Saturday night. There are still some tickets available for the event and they may be obtained from President Michael McHale at £25 each or from any member.

GOOD HOMES SOUGHT

THE Mayo Animal Welfare group are seeking good homes for Rosie, an adult female tortoiseshell cat, spayed, tame and house trained; two male kittens, three months old, vaccinated, tame and house trained. TOWN CENTRE MEETING

The Castlebar Town Centre Residence Association will hold a meeting in McCarthy's Pub, Main Street at 8.30p.m. tonight (Wednesday). There are a number of important items down for discussion.
