Motorcyclist killed in crash
A young man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was in collision with a car at Caherduff, The Neale , Ballinrobe, on Monday morning.
Michael Leonard, in his mid-20's from Castletown, The Neale died at University, College Hospital, Galway, where he was removed after the collision. He was son of Christy and the late Hazel Leonard and he had been deeply involved with the Neale GAA Club.
The remains of Mr. Leonard were removed from the Galway Hospital last evening to St. John's Church, The Neale.
Burial will take place in Ballahalla cemetery following Requiem Mass this morning (Wednesday).

Tourism Certificates
The Minister for Tourism and Trade Enda Kenny will present certificates to participants who completed a Tourism Enterprise Management Development Programme at Breaffy House Hotel, Castlebar on Friday.
The 15 month programme was run by the Mayo County Enterprise Board in conjunction with CERT.
Healthy Eating Week
The annual National Healthy Eating week will be held from May 11 to 17 when the theme will be eat more fibre rich food such as fruit, vegetables, breads, breakfast cereals, potatoes, rice and pasta.
Kenny to launch Inishturk ferry
The Minister for Tourism and Trade Enda Kenny will officially launch a new £150,000 ferry which will serve the 95 residence on Inishturk, nine miles off the Mayo coast on Friday May 16..
The boat, the Caher Star, will be the first licensed ferry on the island and will be run by John and Helen Heanue.
Regular trips to the island from Roonagh (Mayo) and Cleggan (Galway) will be available to those wishing to visit the outcrop.
Opposition raised to housing plan
Residents in Castlebar have expressed concern over a proposal to build four houses for travelling families at Breaffy Road in the town.
The houses have been earmarked for a site adjacent to the proposed Womens Refuge Centre being built by the local St. Vincent De Paul Society near the entrance to Davitt House.
Householders at Maryland in the town held a number of meetings at which opposition to the plan was expressed.
It is understood a strong appeal will be lodged when the planning application by a voluntary housing agency, Respond, is submitted to Castlebar Urban Council.
McNamara's gets village project
One of Ireland's leading contracting firms, McNamara's Limited, have been appointed the main contractors for the construction of the proposed £5m. holiday village in Castlebar.
The Clare-based company is expected to start work in the coming week with the project due to be completed by the end of September
The appointment of a second contracting firm to the development is expected to be announced shortly.
