Volex expand in Castlebar

Another major jobs boost has been announced for Castlebar.
The Volex plant at Breaffy Road in the town is set to expand with the creation of an additional 50 jobs, according to Mr. Enda Kenny, T.D., Minister for Trade and Tourism.
Speaking at the launch of the party's election campaign in the Mayo constituency yesterday (Tuesday), he said a major new extension would be provided at the plant for the manufacture of cable equipment for the export market.
Mr. Kenny stated Volex were taking over Casey's Garage at Turlough Road as a special distribution unit.
The Fine Gael Minister also confirmed that APC had signed the legal sale of contract in respect of their factory at Breaffy Road, adjacent to Volex, and production would get underway in the second week of August.
