Competitions
Friendly competitions are held every week-end and prizes are awarded to the top three men and top three ladies for each competition. A gross prize is awarded for Stroke and stableford competitions.
The Presidents and Captains Prizes are the major events of the year and are usually held in July and August.
As well as the usual week-end competitions, a number of major competitions are also held and these include The Balla Cup (strokeplay); The Broderick Cup (fourball matchplay); The NCF Cups (singles matchplay).
One of the highlights of the season is the Club's annual 'Golf Classic' which takes place at the end of July/early August and runs for 10 days. Valuable prizes presented by the Club's major sponsors are on offer and the competitions is open to non-members of Balla Golf Club. The Classic format is a team of 4 with the best 3 scores to count.
Special mid week competitions are held for beginners and juveniles and a Winter league is held during the Winter months.
The competition ethos is 'Friendly first; Enjoyable second; and if you win a prize it's a bonus'.
