Live entertainment is one of the hallmarks of the week's events, music fills the streets varying from Traditional, Country & Western, Rock & Roll and Samba.

In 1995 a new event to the calendar was the ROCK & ROLL EVENING, incorporating the National Jiving competition and this proved to be one of the week's highlights. This year's events will build on that success with many extras being added on to provide a unique extravaganza for all Rock & Roll enthusiasts

Burst my balloons and you're dead.

An ongoing success has been the COUNTRY & WESTERN EVENING, with its live music and side shows giving a true air of Southern United States to the West of Ireland.

Traditional Irish Music is the order of the day when FEILE na GAEILGE brings the best of Irish music from all over the country to the streets of Ballina. For those wishing to learn about and experience the thrill of this music, workshops will take place in various venues throughout the day. The day's events will culminate in a live open-air concert which promises to be one of the week's highlights.

As always one of the main emphasis of the Festival is the provision of a fun-filled and educational programme for children. Art Workshops, Kiddies' Discos, Sporting Events and, of course, the highlight of the week's children's itinerary THE TEDDY BEARS PICNIC.

Would you believe it - horse racing.

The MARDI GRAS, takes to the streets on the final Saturday night of this year's festival. Pageantry live music, colour and crazy people will party down to a climax of a spectacular fireworks show on the banks of the River Moy. If you have any energy left on the following day relax at the races and have a flutter.

Add to all of these, afternoon street entertainment, Lady and Admiral of the Moy, theatrical performances, Oiche na Muice and riverside entertainment and you have a mixture that makes Ballina your ideal holiday base from
