'An Baile Glas' (The Green Village), is aptly named, located as it is in a fertile strip of land straddling the borders of Mayo Abbey and Carnacon.
A very historical village, Ballyglass also in the past had a stage coach stop, a thriving fair, a co-operative, a warehouse and a courthouse.
