Location of Belcarra

in Mayo in the West of Ireland

Belcarra is situated 6 miles south East of Castlebar and can be approached from three directions.

Drumlins

It was originally a sheet of limestone 100 ft above sea level. As a result of the ice age it is now surrounded by rolling hills, known as Drumlins, running in a Northerly direction.

Lakes & Rivers

Two picturesque lakes, Walshpool & Cloonagh, lie to the East and West of the village. The Miranda river, a tributary of the Moy, runs through the village and is an added attraction which will be further enhanced and developed..
