St Attracta's Shrine, Marian Year, 1954
A shrine was erected in honour of St Attracta in the Marian Year of 1954. A stone with the date 1767 etched on it was also placed at the Shrine, beside the Holy Well. On Aug 11th each year, the 'Tample Pattern' took place and the Rosary was recited - it was a custom that went back hundreds of years. People from all over the parish attended. Among those identifiable in the above photo are:
