Background
Mayo Ireland was formed in September 1995 with the idea of promoting County Mayo on the world stage and create a virtual Mayo for all those people with or without Mayo connections to visit. It is hoped that anyone with Mayo connections wherever their business will see it as a big advantage to themseleves, to us and to the County to advertise on 'Mayo on the Move'.
Mayo Ireland were the first company to approach Telecom Eireann to set up a leased line and give access to the Internet. On St Valentine's Day February 14th. 1996 Mayo's own Internet server went on line on the premises of Mayo Ireland. We are located in the town of Claremorris in County Mayo, having moved from Mayo Abbey - the village that named County Mayo - in May 2001. Claremorris is now a centre for the supply of information to the world's Internet population. Mayo Ireland is an outstanding example of how a rural location in the West of Ireland is not an obstacle to the development of a highly successful Information Technology project.

"Content is King" - This is the criteria used by Mayo Ireland for the design of Internet sites. The majority of serious people using the Internet are looking for information. Our priority is to provide sites that are attractive and informative, quick to download and above all easy to navigate. All our sites have text menus, usually at the bottom of every page.
