Situated 5.5km from Westport, 45 mins drive from Ireland West Airport Knock and the beautiful Basilica at Knock Shrine, "Brookside Cottage" is a turn of the century traditional farmhouse, with a unique blend of character, space and comfort. It has been tastefully restored and furnished to combine old world charm with all modern conveniences.

It lies in a rural peaceful setting and visitors can enjoy many walks from the doorstep. Brookside enjoys spectacular views of Croagh Patrick and unspoiled countryside and is an ideal base for touring Ireland's rugged and historic West. The West lives up to it's image of a wild and traditional country with lonely hills, bogs, loughs and stone walls, good pubs and above all, friendly people.

- Great Western Greenway - The world class Great Western Greenway from Westport to Achill Island is a 42km traffic-free linear cycling and walking route. This route offers some of the most idyllic scenery in the west of Ireland and is the longest off-road cycling experience in Ireland. As this is a linear route there is a drop-off and collection service available along the way
