Ireland's first International Dark Sky Park and Ballycroy National Park are fully packed with free events this Autumn.

On Friday 16th September for the Culture Night at 8pm there will be Culture Shock in Astronomy - a talk from Derek Dempsey, Newport Astronomy Club - on Moving from an Earth centred to a Sun centred universe. A Dark Sky Appreciation Walk will follow until 10pm.

On Friday 30th September at 8pm, Dr. Frank Prendergast, from Dublin Institute of Technology, will talk about Archaeo-Astronomy in Ireland.

On Saturday 8th October there will be events that cater for children.

At 12 noon children will enjoy a Story-time with Michael Casey, Author of ‘I Was There, The Universe Story for Children 8-80’ and
