Samhain Abhainn Festival will take place from Friday 26th October to Wednesday 31st October in Ballina. This event is now one of the best and scariest Halloween-themed festivals in the West of Ireland.

The programme is fully packed with spooky and hair-raising events for children of all ages and adults alike.

The Scary Woods Walk, along the dark paths in Belleek Woods, is the biggest and scariest event of the festival and takes place from Friday to Wednesday.

Evil spirits, lost souls and macabre clowns will turn the walk into a terrifying and creepy experience.

The festival also includes a special Halloween-themed Arts and Crafts Workshops such as Pumpkin Carving, etc., from Monday 29th to Wednesday 31st and the Scary Movies screening from Friday 26th to 31st Wednesday in Ballina Arts Centre.

On Monday 29th there will be a special event for children: “Friendly Fiends of the Scary Woods Walk”. It is a walk across Belleek Woods at 5 pm where young participants will meet and greet some friendly and good Fiends and enjoy the beauty of the forest.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be the Halloween Cooking and Baking for all +8 aged children from 10 am to 12 pm or 2 pm to 4 pm.

On Saturday 27th the Jackie Clarke Collection will host the “Spooky Scéals” for children between 5yrs and 12 yrs.

On Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st October, there will be the Halloween Kids’ Camps at Ballina Costume Company.

The under 12 children will party at the Kennedy Glasgow Centre, prizes for scariest and prettiest costumes.

On Wednesday 31st October there will be the vent Halloween Hoots at the Jackie Clarke Collection with Apex Birds of Prey.

On Thursday 1st November Samhain Abhainn Festival will finish with a ‘Spooky Story-Time’ at 4 pm in Ballina Library.
