Traditional music in Keel with Laoise Kelly

The acclaimed traditional harpist Laoise Kelly from Westport will perform with the leading Scottish piper and singer Allan MacDonald at ‘The Beehive’ in Keel on Achill Island.

MacDonald is known internationally as a composer, musical director, piper, singer, workshop leader and lecturer on Gaelic music. His style of playing is in tune with the Gaelic culture of 1550-1750. He loves playing pibroch (a music associated with the Scottish Highlands) which he makes enjoyable and easy to listen.

Laoise recorded some critically acclaimed albums and has featured on TV and Radio programs in Ireland and abroad. She tutors regularly in numerous universities.

The concert will take place on Sunday 30th August at 7pm and will offer traditional Irish music lovers a performance in an intimate atmosphere, a real treat for all.
