Ballycroy National Park Visitor Centre will host an amazing event for Culture Night on Friday 18th September from 8pm to 10pm.

’The Wonder of Mayo’s Night Sky’ is a photographic exhibition of some stunning photographs of the Mayo’s night sky taken by the Astrophotographer Brian Wilson. Visitors will admire images of aurora borealis, planets and stars.

He will give a talk about the equipment he uses, what he photographs and how he takes such beautiful photographs. He will also demonstrate his equipment and techniques he uses.

There will be also a speaker from Galway Astronomy Club, Ronan Newman, who will talk about the history of the Aurora Borealis and Georgia MacMillian who will talk about the Dark Skies project.

Also visitors will be able to view the night’s sky under tutelage of veteran astronomers using telescopes available on the night.
