Well done to Lisa Gallagher who won 1st prize in the under 18 category in the AIB Decorated Cake Competition at Connacht Spring Show in Ballinrobe.
The cakes were judge by head chef Jonathan Keane from ‘The Lodge at Ashford’ who was very impressed with the high standard of decoration.
A number of homes in Bonniconlon have recently been approached by two individuals to make direct debits to one of the many established charitable organisations. Investigations revealed they are unknown to the charity they claimed to represent and, therefore, did not have permission to do so.
Remember, Direct Debit transactions require the donor to provide full details of their bank account. In the wrong hands, such details can lead to illegal withdrawals from the account.
Before signing up to a Direct Debit to some charity, please ensure you are fully satisfied with the credentials of the people requesting the Direct Debit and that they are known to the charity they claim to represent.
A quick phone call to the local Garda Station should establish the legality of the collection
