FERS

FERS are undertaking a survey for breeding Curlew in Co. Mayo. The optimum means of locating nests is ask the custodians of the landscape - the farmers. When we know where the breeding Curlew are, we will inform the DAFM, and the farms with breeding Curlew on them will be prioritised for entry into the voluntary Agri-Environment Scheme, GLAS.

We hope that GLAS will bring an additional income to farmers, to keep both the farmers and the birds on the land. Your assistance in this regard would be particularly welcome.
