First Communion Parent`s Meeting

First Communion parents/guardians from Ballindine and Irishtown are invited to an introduction meeting on the “Do This in Memory Programme “on Tuesday 21st October @ 8pm in Ballindine School Gym, with facilitator Mary Connell.

Confirmation Parent`s Meeting

An information meeting for parents/guardians of children from Ballindine and Irishtown who wish to make their Confirmation next February, will take place on Wednesday 22nd October at 8pm in Ballindine N.S. Gym, with facilitator Mary Connell.

Harvest Thanksgiving

Harvest Thanksgiving €1,920

A sincere thank you to all involved in last weekend`s Harvest Masses. To the school children who helped us celebrate the Harvest in a very meaningful way, and their parents who donated produce for sale afterwards. To those who decorated the churches and arranged displays and to everyone who brought and purchased produce.

Your donation of €1,920 was very gratefully received by the Roisín Tansey Trust Fund.

Celebration of Marriage Anniversaries

A special Celebration of significant marriage anniversaries will be held in Tuam Cathedral this Sunday 19th Oct. at 3pm At this ceremony there will be renewal of marriage vows, and each couple will receive a candle and Prayer Card in remembrance of the occasion.

Refreshments afterwards in St. Jarlath`s College.

All welcome to attend.

World Mission Day 19th October

This Sunday is World Mission Day 19th October – All offertory donations this weekend will be given to the Missions.

Pope Francis reminds us that this is a privileged moment when the faithful of various continents engage in prayer and concrete gestures of solidarity in support of the young Churches in mission lands.

Please help World Missions Ireland to be able to share the gift of faith through your prayer and financial support of the missions.

Volunteer

Volunteer needed for Children`s Liturgy at 12noon Mass in Ballindine, training will be provided. Tel: 087-2555007. Children explore the Gospel in their own language & offer their artwork at the Altar during Mass.

Family and Life Meeting

Family and Life Meeting in Defence of the Family at St. John's Rest and Care Centre, Knock on Tuesday Oct 28th at 7:30pm.

Guest Speaker: David Quinn, Iona Institute and Catholic Comment – All are welcome to attend.

New Pastoral Council

A new Pastoral Council for our parish is to be set up for the four years 2014-2019. A brochure will be delivered to every home in the parish, inviting people to nominate persons to go forward for the new Council.

Each family is asked to nominate two people – one man and one woman and at least one under 35 years. Closing date for nominations is Sunday 26th Oct.

If you wish to obtain extra Nomination Forms please pick one up in the church.

Happytots Playgroup

HAPPYTOTS PLAYGROUP are organising a Fun Run/Walk this Sunday 19th Oct @2pm. Entry fee €8 per adult, €2 per child.
