Claremorris Agri Show

The town of Claremorris is hosting its 96th Agri Show on Sunday 3rd August. It is a very well known festival in Mayo and a wonderful occasion for a good family day out.

The Show is packed with fun, games and novelty events all day long and offers many attractions to suit all visitors from a rich plethora of competitions to cookery demonstrations.

The competitions will see horses, donkeys, cattle, sheep and fowl compete for prizes, sorted into different classes.

There will be competitions for vintage, garden produce, flowers, jams, eggs, cookery and handicrafts, but also for the best hand-painted picture and the best dressed Lady.

New, this year, is the family competition for best scarecrow. There are also a photographic competition for the best photograph depicting the show, competitions for Primary and Secondary Schools, a dog agility demonstration and the smallest cow in the world.

All children will have a great fun-day: free face painting, free bouncing castles, free sports and pony rides and , above all, for the first time in Mayo, the not to be missed Paddy Jack Power and His Puppets show.

Adults will enjoy the Ceili Band, the open air dancing and the Shop Street where stalls will be filled with all kinds of fare from Mayo, truly a must for all good food lovers.

Another important mention is the cookery workshop: "Growing Locally" and the Claremorris Agricultural Show 2014 are proud to present the four cookery demonstrations with the celebrity chef Mr Frank Moynihan.

Come and see the Claremorris Agri Show 2014, here old friends meet and new friendships begin!
