A Doorway Through Time Castlebar 1894 - 2015

Experience the living Mayo, because Mayo is always on the move !

Calling all past pupils of St. Angela's National School, Castlebar, inviting them to be part of the forthcoming nostalgic open day on Friday 27th February and Saturday 28th February 2015.

St. Angela's National School dates back to 1894 and is the most historical educational building in the Castlebar area and it has prepared many people for life.

Many old memories will be recalled with your help and we are seeking the loan of any class photographs, individual photos or photos of teachers/pupils or the building from late 1800 to early 1960's.

Who can help us? We need equipment and regalia to set up a very old fashioned national classroom for our open weekend at Castlebar Social Services Centre. This building was the original centre of Catholic junior education of Castlebar and is about to be renovated and changed forever.

This occasion is brought about by the imminent refurbishment and extension of the building which will change it forever. The future of the building will from now on be the main community voluntary centre in Castlebar and provide services as shown in the attached Harmony Centre display of our activities.
