It is a beautiful village on what feels like the edge of the world, surrounded by beautiful beaches, wonderful nature colours in a perfect setting. Perfect for group, family or solo trips. Great variety of pubs and eating choices in Roundstone village itself. I will be back for another visit and I will recommend to my friends too. Its a long drive over from Dublin but 100% worth it

I am biased because my mother came from there, but I can't imagine a more beautiful place. We ate at the very friendly Shamrock Bar and also at O'Dowds seafood restaurant and O'Dowd's cafe. It is a great small village, founded by Alexander Nimmo in the nineteenth century, so full of colourful terraced Victorian houses and easy to talk round . It has spectacular views of the mountains and sea.

Roundstone has maintained its laid back appeal over the 50+ years I have been going there. it never fails. The various bars and eating places are all of a very high standard. the local beaches are probably the finest in the world and the surrounding countryside is stunning.

Roundstone is a small, pretty place so with not much to offer for longer stays. The location of the hotel a short distance from Roundstone was ideal for guaranteed peace and quiet. We found our three night stay was just enough to cover the area, including Clifden, the Sky Road, Kylemore Abbey & Gardens, Kilary Fjiord/Cruise. Because of Covid restrictions we opted to eat in the Hotel each evening. The food was excellent.

A pleasant and pretty village, although rather over packed by visitors, of which we of course were a part! The pottery shop at the far end of the village has some lovely products, and the potter a most delightful, friendly and pleasant man.

Roundstone is a nice size of a town with a small harbour, a few shops, restaurants and pubs. Nice beaches close by, in walking distance and a good pottery store at the old monastery. It is quiet a reserved location to visit and the people are very friendly.

This old gorgeous Victorian Hotel is a sweet stay for all who love historical homes and beautiful gardens! The breakfast was served in a lovely morning room with nice china and crisp linens. It was delicious! We also enjoyed a late night drink at the hotel bar and a moonlight stroll in the gardens. We took a long walk through all the garden paths after breakfast and found it enchanting. So much love and care has been taken to keep the grounds in stunning condition. We hope to come back and highly recommend.

Roundstone is such a charming village. This apartment was close to a small market, cafes, pubs, and restaurants all within a very short walking distance. Parking was also very easy. The apartment was spacious, well furnished, and warm. The convience of a washer and dryer was great for my long trip in Europe and having tea and espresso supplies provided for each morning was wonderful. I felt right at home and felt very comfortable during my stay.

The residence has the charm and comfort that you see advertised. The staff is warm and engaging. The location is beautiful, (the hotel) having 50 acres of surrounding gardens and hiking trails - overlooking the tranquility of Cashel Bay. Dining facilities enjoy a view of the grounds front garden. Food is locally sourced, and both the preparation and execution of meal service was of a high standard.

Quirky and magnificent. How often do you get served breakfast by a Duke?? Richard is a legend. Breakfast was very homely and you have the option of not having it. Easy walk into Roundstone.Recommend O'Dowd's for food and drink, all other pubs seem to be dominated by big TV's and music, O'Dowd's has a family homely feel and great food.

Lovely place full of history. Couple minute walk to Roundstone. Richard is a very pleasant host. Perfect stay in beautiful west Ireland. Go and eat at O'Dowds pub down the road or get the best toasted sandwich from the Good Stuff food truck down by the water. You won't regret it.
