Teen Mag

It stands so high with so much hope
a tree
it waits the awakening of Spring
It comes with gusto shoots, then leafs
each bough supporting new life
it rebuffs the cold and embraces the warmth
sways and shakes, rustles and preens
the flowers appear so shy at first
but then for everyone to see
the wind steals the blossom and it rests
the tree
shadows cast in shades of green
with little notice taken
the nuts erupt incased in pith with spikes attached
the season moves on
the rain cannot dilute this magnificent structure
the wind relieves the fruit
children gather to collect their prize
the tree takes a sigh
time to close the show with branches bare
a bonfire high and aromatic warms
take stock my tree
Is this the end? no
what started out with so much hope
where touch confirmed the eye
is now mere ash, no more tangible
the spirit embraces it
