The Glass Mirror

Glass mirror of sparkling crystal waits lazily,
Golden rage of a fireball careens across a rose-hued sky
Tall looming growth of green-brown giants lean in to hear,
The musical notes of weightless giggling far below
One beaming girl and one grinning boy,
Laughing and lighthearted,
Chasing one another bare-foot along the mirror's glossy edge.
Honking from flying majestic and breathtaking creatures
Echo the serene scene of simple joy and blissfulness
Splash!
A fire-work of sparkling crystal and exploding sound,
Spurt across the fiery, fierce, rainbow horizon
Musical notes answer louder with such happiness,
Bursting inside, outside, through and through
A child emerges as if bouncing from the mirror,
The other follows with similar excitement and energy,
One covered to the knees in crystal sparkles
The other covered to the head in giggles and smiles
Teasing back and forth is made playful
The music makers soft pit-pat of bare feet begin to fade
Into the green-blue velvety surroundings of their joyous day
And while they are leaving this land of enchantment
The tall looming growth of green-browned giants,
Golden rage of a fireball that careens across a rose-hued sky
And a glassy mirror of sparkling crystal,
It is all expecting, waiting, and watching,
For the return of these two magical children
Who will once again take this scene of dull normality
and change it into an enchanting wonder-world of happiness and grace.
