Beautiful, Familiar Stranger
Shared dreams fade with discarded addresses
Lost affection comforting my failing hope
Your deep brown eyes now show me apathy-as generous as they
once cared
The past washed away with tears
Old passwords are just the bad humor they always were
Unable to exchange more than carefully worded updates
Sensitive scars of our own souls are left unforgiven
If we don't mention--we'll assume we forgave
If we don't cry now--then we never really did
Lets pretend that everything is fine and that we're really
strangers
meeting for the first time
Then we had never talked before or exchanged anything
Long understanding glances were never given
But that is all forgotten with the pain you gave
So just be my beautiful, familiar stranger...
