The Achill Seafood Festival celebrates the maritime culture and it takes place throughout Achill Island from Friday 1st July to Sunday 24th July.

Each year Feile na Mara kicks off with with the Achill Island Half Marathon and 10K Run.

The festival programme is fully packed with exciting events such as boat trips to neighbouring islands (weather permitting), nightly traditional music sessions, guided nature walks, family fun party nights, family quizzes, sports days, open air movies, summer camps, art classes and more.

New this year are the Gala Seafood Experience Night, the crowning of Cailin Acla (Festival Queen), the search for Achill's Most Eligible Bachelor, the Purteen Harbour Festival, Rock Around The Dock with music, food and traditional currach racing, St. Colman's Garden Fete and Open Sea Angling Competition.

Freshly caught fish is always available on the menus of restaurants.

Also visitors will enjoy many adventure sports activities available on the island throughtout the festival.
