This year the Castlebar based Chapel Street Gospel Choir is celebrating 20 years in the making with the concert “ Gospel in the House”.

The choir boasts a membership of almost 40 now, many of whom come from all around the county of Mayo and beyond. Along the years the choir boasts three extremely talented musicians as directors: Niamh O’Kelly, Donal Sarsfield and Kathy Fahey at the present day. All of them have brought their own inimitable style to the choir.

The 20th Birthday Celebration Extravaganza will take place in the magnificent surroundings of newly-renovated Ballinfad House, outside Belcarra, Castlebar, on Friday 14th June.

It will be an exceptional night of music and song with a unique repertoire for every taste. The choir will be accompanied by the band “The Sophisticats”, and epic special guests will perform.

The renowned musician David Agnew and his wonderfully talented vocalist daughter, Chloe Agnew will be together on stage along with the world-famous songwriter and composer Tom Kendzia from the USA.
