RoolaBoola Children's Arts Festival

RoolaBoola is one of the leading children’s arts festivals in Ireland. This amusing event takes place annually in Castlebar at the Linehall Arts Centre and other venues in town.
The 2018 event runs from Thursday 25th October to Monday 29th October.
The celebrations include a selection of the highest calibre national and international children's theatre, music and dance shows as well as other arts events, including children’s book readings, exhibitions, street performances and a multitude of hands-on arts workshops for children aged 2 to 14 years and their families.
The 2018 exciting experience includes:

“The Young King” by Oscar Wilde, adapted for the stage by Nicki Bloom with the Adelaide theatre company, Slingsby.

“How To Catch A Star” presented by Branar Téatar Do Pháistí and based on the beloved book by award-winning Irish author Oliver Jeffers.

“Mini Monster Print Making” with Elsa O’Reilly, a fun and practical print-making workshop.

“Paper Bag Creations”, a drop in workshop where to transform a simple brown paper bag into whatever children imagine.

“Dicing with Storytelling” with writer Ken Armstrong, a story-making workshop using dice.

“Clayroots Halloween Ceramic Workshop” with Amanda Hickey, a workshop where children can create a unique piece of pottery.

“Clown Workshop” with Amadan Theatre Co., a practical clown workshop to learn the essential skills of being a clown.

“Nation Creation” with writer Debbie Thomas.

“Rhythms of the World” with percussionist Anthony McNamee, a workshop to explore rhythms from around the world

“Super Heroes” with writer Debbie Thomas, a discover of your inner superhero.
- “Pink and Blue” by Amadan, a brand new show to explore what it means to be a boy or a girl.
