Ballindine/Irishtown Active Retirement Association

Ballindine/Irishtown Active Retirement Association meet twice monthly (on Tuesday nights) in Ballindine Community Centre. They are a very active group and this is a great social outlet for the over 55's in the area.

Ballindine/Irishtown ARA participate in a broad selection of interesting activities - computer classes, bowling, buffet/dinner dances, information nights with a guest speaker addressing the meeting, day outings, 3-4 night away trips, etc.

In 2010 they were successful in drawing down National Lottery funding which was used to purchase new laptop computers for the group, many of whom had previously taken a "Train the Trainers" course in IT Skills.

The Ballindine/Irishtown Writers Group - a sub group of the ARA - produced their first anthology, "You couldn’t leave it after you", in 2009.

New members are always welcome.
