Killala is situated 7 miles north of Ballina on the N314. Ballycastle is 9 miles northwest of Killala on the same route.

It is 31 miles from Castlebar and approximately one hour's drive to Knock Airport.

Killala is a very historical area with many interesting places to visit, from the site of the French Landing in 1798 at Kilcummin to the Round Tower, Breastagh Ogham Stone, Moyne Abbey, Rathfran Abbey, Rosserk Abbey and Bartra Island.
