Rooney & Moran family history
I believe my Rooney & Moran ancestors came from somewhere around Cooneal and would like to know if there are any Rooneys or Morans in the area who would correspond with me? I'm a descendent of John Rooney, born about 1828-1833, in County Mayo. John had a brother Martin Rooney, born about 1826-1830, in County Mayo, and they were the sons of Patrick Rooney & Winnie Moran. John & Martin both emigrated to the US shortly before 1850, and I believe they left at different times but were accompanied by Moran family members. Martin arrived in Boston and John arrived in New Orleans, and both spent time in Indiana and then Illinois. If there are any Rooneys or Morans in Conneal who would correspond with me, I'd be very grateful. I live in Delaware in the US. My email address is [removed]
