many years ago as a child my father Michael Horan took us to Ross Killala to visit my grandfather William Horan I have the most amazing memories still regarding that visit but one of the most memorable was at about 11pm at night my father took me to watch the sealions play in the sea ( which from my recollection was 2 feilds from my Grandfathers cottage?)we were at a high point and were more or less looking down on to the sea, as the moonlight shone and the seals played my father said that where we stood was called HORAN's POINT!! is there such a place or is it part of my imagination or my fathers! My grandfather sadly passed away several years ago and my aunty Annie & her brother peter took over the Homested, Annie married and she too passed away and her husband remarried and sold the property. sadly I fear I have waited to long to go back to my roots and revist that wonderful place.
