Barrett Family
My name is Joan Hafer. I am looking for any information on the Barrett Family from Greyfield, Co. Mayo. My great grandfather was James Barrett who immigrated from Ireland to England sometime between 1871 and 1881. He married Margaret Campbell about 1880 and lived in Sandbach, Co. Cheshire. Around 1888 James and his family immigrated to Philadelphia PA. James had a brother John born about 1855 in Greyfield. John also went to England where he married Mary McElinn. John and his family immigrated to Philadelphia about 1883. A brother Thomas was born about 1860, he too went to England and married Mary Ann McGovern. He left England around 1913 with his family for Philadelphia. Other siblings are Mary, Catherine, and Francis, they left directly from Ireland to Philadelphia.
