GRADY - Looking for information
The obituary: We regret very much to announce the death of one of our oldest friends and relatives, Mr. John Grady of Murrisk, Westport which occurred at his residence, Murrisk on Sunday last, 6th inst. Up to recent time deceased resided in his old family home on Innisheeney, and callers at the island always remembered with gratitude the warm-hearted, kindly greeting and hospitality of deceased. He was a member of one of the oldest families in Clare Island and Murrisk. We sympathize very much with his afflicted widow and children. Though God had given him length of years, they will miss him. Their great consolation is that his innocent sinless life has won for him a glorious eternity. On Tuesday morning Holy Mass de Requiem was offered up for him in his late residence by Rev. Father Godfrey, C.C., Lecanvey. At 2 o'clock same day the funeral took place to Gloshpatrick, the family burial place. It was a large and representative cortege of mourners from all over the district paying a last tribute of respect to one who had won their affections by his kindliness and innocence. The chief mourners were Mrs. Grady (widow), May Grady (daughter), Mrs. Rose Kelly (sister), Jas and John Grady (sons), James Grady, Davitt's Terrace, Westport (brother), and a large number of nieces, nephews and cousins. The last prayers at the graveside were said by Rev. Father Godfrey, C.C., Lecanvey, Westport - [removed]
