Kirrane Family History
Dear Fellow Kirrane: I have long been interested in my family’s history. As you know, KIRRANE is not a very common name and many of us probably share some common roots. I am cutting back on my work schedule and one of the things I want to do is connect with more Kirranes and maybe even have a worldwide Kirrane reunion. My grandfather, John Kirrane was born about 1875 in Mayo, possibly in Ballyhaunis. Went to Oldham, England and married Margaret Melia in 1899. Arrived in New York in 2005 and lived in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Their seven children were John (Marian – no children), Bernard (Mae – 2 children), Agnes (no children), Thomas (Betty who may have been second marriage and had at least one daughter who I never had any contact with), Margaret Quigley (no children), Katherine Stannish (3 children), and my father William (Mary Kelly and had 6 children: William, Peter, Maureen Devlin, John, Kathleen, and Robert). I am attaching a bio of myself, which I use in my real estate business. I am sending this E- Mail to all Kirranes that I can find on the web. Please let me know about yourself and I promise to put all the info together and distribute it. Also please send a mailing list of other Kirranes.
