Traces of Saint Patrick in Mullafarry, History in Co. Mayo

Patrick was in Mullafarry at Farrah, the assembly place of the sons of King Awley.

It is mentioned in his life: ”Having advanced from Kill-Fharchlann, St Patrick came to the place which, from the public assembly held by the sons of King Amalgadius and their subjects there, is called Farrach-Mhac-n-Amholgaith; and on that day he gained over to Christ the seven sons of Amalgadius, with the King himself and twelve thousand men, and baptised them all in a fountain which is called Tour Enadharc.”
