Here you will find information on leisure pursuits in the Achill area.
Achill has a wealth of leisure pursuits to suit all tastes and there are many sports and activities to take the visitor out and about under the glorious Achill skies during their stay there. One of the most recent additions to the 'things to do in Achill' list is the Great Western Greenway - a 42km off-road cycling and walking route linking Achill with Westport, via Mulranny and Newport.
As well as the Great Western Greenway, Achill offers other great cycling opportunities for all levels of cycling fitness. The National Cycle Network continues to develop throughout Ireland and there are three looped trails in the Achill Cycle Hub, each of which commence in Keel and are of varying distances and challenges. You can cycle quiet country lanes, choose gentle gradients or steep climbs, experience spectacular cliff scenery and golden beaches, stop off at the historic 'Deserted Village', or pause for well deserved refreshments along the way.
Loop 1 - 44km
Loop 2 - 28km
